Tomko + Burke Wedding / Invitation Designs

For our wedding, my now-wife Katie and I collaborated on a Bauhaus/modernist-inspired aesthetic — above are the invitation, RSVP, map, and various envelope components; not shown are our save the dates and takeaway bags containing 1″ buttons, magnets, and mint tins. The wedding was held in Central Park in Manhattan on October 18, 2008 and presided over by our good friend and neighbor Marcus. Following, an aesthetically-pleasing line of fourteen assembled pedicabs transported our close friends and family (twenty-eight attended, in total) to Candle 79 Restaurant for a vegan reception. Photos to follow.

  3. Wow man, those are pretty much the best wedding invitations I’ve ever seen. I love how you ditched the traditional look, and I’m a big fan of Bauhaus-style design.

  7. I’ve fallen out of reading your blog for the past few years, but what a delight to be bored on a Monday evening, wonder whatever happened to that one guy, and find that he’s doing (apparently) wonderfully. (I won the proof copy of your book, by the way, all those many years ago. Thanks. A few of your photos are still on my wall.)

  10. Some weird cosmic blip compelled me to check your site tonight, after not checking it in MONTHS. MONTHS, I say. And this is what I see. WOW. Though I’m a couple weeks late, I hope the two of you will still accept my heartfelt congrats. You’re such a powerteam.

  11. Thanks to everyone for all the positive feedback; it means a lot. Quite pleased, also, to see a good handful of names I haven’t seen in such a long stretch!

    Cheers
